Teach. Write.: A Writing Teachers’ Literary Journal is open for submissions until March 1 for the spring/summer 2024 edition. Although I began the journal as an outlet for writing teachers to publish their work, I accept any good writing that meets my submission guidelines.
I am excited about being retired and able to give the journal the attention it deserves. It really does make a difference in my writing, blogging, editing, and publishing to be released from the heavy grading load I carried at the end of my career. I wish more administrators would see the value of allowing teachers of all kinds to have time to be creative and to write, especially composition instructors.
Writing for publication helped me be a better writing teacher because through the process I was humbled, remembering how hard it is to subject myself to evaluation and criticism, no matter how instructive or constructive.
I invite you, especially you writing teachers out there, to submit a poem, short story, essay, or short drama today. I want to read your work!
